Storing of the rolls:
In order to achieve a long life it should be observed that:

  • The spreader rolls are stored in a dry and well aerated room with temperatures between 10-25 °C.
  • Rubber covered rolls are not exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Deformations of the rubber sleeve are avoided by turning the roll from time to time.
  • Spreader rolls are never stored on the roll body.
  • Spreader rolls are stored at least at 25 °C/24 hours before installation.
Despatch:
  • In case of shipment by sea, a special case will be prepared.
  • Each spreader roll is packed in a wooden case.
  • To ensure safe transportation, the spreader rolls must be fixed - bow down - in the case.
  • Documents with all relevant details of roll and customer must be shown clearly on the outside of the case.
  • All necessary adjustment keys, ratchet wrenches and hand pumps are contained in the case.

Transportation and Lifting Instructions

Like this! Like this!
Spreader rolls must be lifted by means of a wide belt sling, positioned either at both roll ends or on each axle. Belt slings should always be positioned on the end segments. Crane lifting bars are ideal for lifting spreader rolls. Rolls should be lifted as described above - never by one sling on the centre of the roll body. The bow should always be in the "down" position.
Not like this!
The roll should never be lifted by ropes or narrow belts, on the area of the roll body.

This can lead to mechanical damage or to a premature failure of the roll Not like this!

The spreader roll should never be lifted by a fork lift truck in the area of the roll body.
