The ability to stand up to the chemical and high-heat environment of textile manufacturing is the first requirement for successful roll covers. Equally important is the need to provide the long service life that delivers the economy necessary to compete in today's global marketplace.
Improved quality, increased efficiency and innovative value are the primary benefits that Stowe Woodward technologies bring to the textile industry.
Eliminating premature roll hardening, compromised performance from chemical attack, premature yarn wear, and cover debonding are examples of roll solutions that increase line efficiency. Engineered roll covers with longer service life enable textile manufacturers to compete amoung increasing global pressures.
Slasher Squeeze Roll
The slasher squeeze roll applies nip pressure to extract size from yarn filaments.
Chemical attack from penetrants can cause roll hardening which leads to decreased nip width, reduced dwell time and less chemical extraction. Abrasion from yarns can cause roll grooving resulting in a loss of squeeze pressure.
Feed Nip Roll
The feed nip roll feeds yarn and filament to the slashing unit with even tension and speed.
The roll cover must resist the wear and grooving from the yarn which causes uneven feed tension to the slashing unit.
Slasher Immersion Roll
The slasher immersion roll is used to immerse yarn into the size bath for good size pick up.
Maintaining the nip width and dwell time is critical. Chemical attack from modern penetrants can cause roll hardening and surface cracking leading to reduced nip width, decreased dwell time, and inadequate chemical extraction. Abrasion from the yarn also can lead to roll grooving which causes a loss in squeeze pressure.
Slasher Doctor Roll
The slasher doctor roll orients the yarn to feed the slasher immersion roll.
The prevention of grooving from yarn abrasion and hardening due to chemical exposure are important characteristics of the roll cover.
Slasher Sizerok / Hardrok Roll
This hard roll is mated to a softer slasher squeeze roll to provide size extraction in the nip.
The prevention of grooving from yarn abrasion and picking of the fiber from the yarn are necessary functions of the roll cover.
Delivery Roll / Jig Beam Roll
The delivery roll maintains even tension on the yarn as it is wound onto the beam.
The prevention of wear and grooving from the yarn are the primary requirements of the cover.
