We are able to detect minute variations: our specialists painstakingly examine both used fabrics and felts and new designs under a microscope and inspect paper samples for roughness and marking. The results are compared with analyses stored in our central database for benchmarking purposes.
When working with our customers, we not only use our detailed lab reports to precisely define the best way to optimize their paper machines, but also to predict potential problem areas. Several analysis methods like IR-Spectroscopy, TGA (Thermo Gravimetric Analysis) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) are available to support customers in areas where contamination problems have to be solved.
To evaluate the parameters of felt designs in the press nip, a dynamic nip simulation test was developed together with a research institute. The examinations and analyses performed by our laboratory personnel provide inputs to the fabric and felt, in addition to the paper quality improvement initiatives of our research and development, application engineering and field service staff. Our laboratory stays abreast of the latest advances and developments in the wet section of the paper machine by regularly exchanging experiences and collaborating with scientific institutions and other paper industry subsuppliers.
